It was a day to remember for Thame U13s team as they battled their way to the final of the prestigious Harwell & Hendred 6-a-side tournament, ultimately finishing as worthy runners-up after a thrilling day of football.
The event, held on Saturday 14th June 2025 brought together some of the strongest youth teams in the region, with fast-paced action and fierce competition on every pitch. The Thame squad, proudly sponsored by Aylesbury Fire Systems, showed determination, skill and excellent teamwork throughout the tournament.
From the first group match, the boys looked sharp and focused, stringing together strong performances with solid defending and great finishes. They topped their group with confidence and progressed to the knockout stages where they continued to impress, overcoming tough opposition in the quarterfinals and a tense semi-final that went right down to the wire.
The final was a closely contested affair, with both sides giving everything. Despite their best efforts, Thame U13s were narrowly edged out, settling for a well-deserved second place. Every player gave their all and represented the club with pride, showcasing the progress they’ve made over the season.
